Hot Patcher Evo 9.1
HOT PATCH ASPHALT HEATER — EVO 9.1
FOR 1-TON AND LARGER DUMP BODY MUNICIPAL TRUCKS After more than 20 years of designing, refining and building full-size Hot Patch Heaters, Five D launched into a significant redesign of our full-size Hot Patch heaters.
The EVO 9.1 features heated sidewalls, larger heated bed floor, improved maintenance and service access and higher temperatures than prior models. The EVO 9.1 combines a 120V plug-in preheater with a diesel-fired heater for heating patch mix while driving between repair locations. The 120V pre-heater ensures that patch mix is warm in the morning allowing patching to start much earlier in the workday.
All Hot Patch Heaters are designed so they do not overheat cold patch material. Cold patch material that is overheated will have the binding agents cooked out of the mix and the resulting pothole repair will be very short-lived. Hot Patch Heater EVO dramatically improves safety for workers, provides longer-lasting pothole repairs and substantially lowers cost. Most EVO 9.1 units are sold with the patented rear shoveling platform that greatly improves work ergonomics when shoveling.
A Hot Patch Heaters unit's size and convenience mean it can be quickly mobilized with a one or two-person crew at a much lower cost than the larger crews typically required for larger equipment. When using heated cold patch material, Hot Patch Heaters allow for longer-lasting repairs and hence lower annual cost to readdress failed patches.
Unlike dedicated patching trailers or slide in hot boxes, Hot Patch EVO units allow the truck to retain nearly all of its original versatility. Mulch, yard debris, gravel, etc. can be hauled in the Hot Patch heater without removing the unit. If preferred, the Hot Patch EVO 9.1 heater can, after initial installation and set-up, be install or removed in under 15 minutes by removing 4 pins, unhooking one electrical quick disconnect.
• Full-size Hot Patch base model for 1-Ton and larger Dump Body Trucks as well as tandem axle dump trailers
• 120V Pre-heater and Diesel-fired on-board heater
• Fast recovery time for heating more than one load of patch mix per day and/or for use in colder temperatures
• Can be used to prolong pliability of hot mix asphalt during the workday
INSULATED TARP - NOW STANDARD EQUIPMENT!
Great for cold weather use - the optional insulated tarp allows the patch mix to heat more quickly and better retain heat, especially when using the 120V preheater or traveling down the road during cold weather.
BOW & BRACKET TARP SUPPORT SET - NOW STANDARD EQUIPMENT!
The tarp supports easily bolt to the EVO unit and provides two advantages. First off the resulting arch in the tarp helps shed rainwater and melting snow to prevent water from puddling on the tarp. Secondly the Bow and Bracket set helps to create an air gap between the tarp and the patch mix inside the EVO unit. This air gap provides additional insulation to further improve patch mix heating efficiency during cold weather. The bow lifts out by hand in seconds to provide an unobstructed bed when the EVO unit is loaded from above.
REAR HYDRAULIC SHOVELING PLATFORM
This patented feature is an option that nearly all EVO customers chose because it significantly improves the ergonomics when shoveling patch mix. Safety is greatly improved when the shoveling height is near the knee level. In most cases, the only EVO customers who do not add this option are those customers who plan to use their EVO unit in a dump trailer application.
This removable divider creates a space in front of the patch mix that can be used to place loose chunks of asphalt and prevent this and other debris from mixing with your patch mix when the bed is tilted upward. Many customers also use the space created by the debris divider as an area to store shovels, rakes, and other tools.
CUSTOM LIFTING STRAPS
Asymmetrical length engineered lifting straps are designed to allow you to easily install and remove your EVO unit using an overhead crane or other lifting equipment. The straps are engineered so the EVO unit is slightly higher in the front than in the rear when suspended. This slight tilt allows for easier alignment of the EVO unit on the rear mounting pins for quick and easy installation and removal.
